Manhattan Solstice (Manhattanhenge)
Have you heard of MahnattanHenge?
Twice a year the phenomenon of the Manhattan Solstice also known as ManhattanHenge occurs. This is where the Sun sets in perfect alignment to the grid of the city streets of Manhattan.
During the solstice you can see the sun set from the main cross streets of Manhattan (14th, 23rd, 34th, 42nd & 59th street). As the sun sets, the city and it's steel canyons are filled with beautiful solar flares and golden radiance. The photos from this post was taken from the Park Avenue Viaduct in front of Grand Central Terminal (42nd street).
